Students from similar departments or specialized graduate schools must complete prerequisite courses separately as prescribed by the President.
A master's or doctoral degree program operated by an external institution that is designated as an educational institution must complete at least the prescribed number of credits required by the institution.
A course is considered complete when at least the prescribed number of credits are earned and the grade point average for all courses is 3.0 or higher.
A person who has abandoned the integrated master's and doctoral degree program and has met the criteria for completion of the master's degree program in the preceding paragraph shall be recognized for completion of the master's degree program.
Courses that were recognized as equivalent at the time of admission may not be taken twice.
Transfer of credits under dual and joint degree programs may be by agreement between universities.
The duration of graduate master's and doctoral programs shall not be less than two years each, and the duration of combined master's and doctoral programs shall not be less than four years. However, the master's program for nurse practitioners is not less than 2 years and 6 months (5 semesters).

The number of years of enrollment in the Graduate School may not exceed twice the number of years of study. However, doctoral programs may not exceed five years.
Readmitted students will have a full transfer period.
